The terms that govern your use of AutoCops
These are the rules that apply to anyone using the AutoCops website or platform. Customers under a signed Master Service Agreement also have additional terms specific to their contract.

Acceptance of these terms
By accessing the AutoCops website at autocops.org or using the AutoCops application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or the platform. These terms apply to both casual visitors and to customers with paid contracts; customers may have additional terms in their signed Master Service Agreement.
What we provide
AutoCops is a software platform for managing compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and related regulations. We provide the software, the documentation, and reasonable support; you provide the operational discipline to use it. We are not a law firm, and nothing on this website or in the platform constitutes legal advice.
Account responsibilities
If you are a customer with a user account, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your password and MFA secrets secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access
- Ensuring the personal data you process through the platform has a lawful basis
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any AutoCops system without our written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform
- Use the platform to send unsolicited communications or spam
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the platform without a written reseller agreement with us
Intellectual property
The AutoCops platform, the website, the documentation, the brand, the logos, and all underlying source code remain the property of AutoCops Compliance Pvt. Ltd. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for the term of your subscription, solely for your internal business purposes. Your data remains your data.
Customer data
Personal data and other content that customers process through the AutoCops platform belongs to the customer. We act as a Data Processor under Section 2(k) of the DPDP Act for that data, and our processing is governed by the Data Processing Addendum. We will not access, use, or disclose customer data except as instructed by the customer or required by law.
Service availability
We aim for high availability of the platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance windows are communicated in advance. Customer-specific service level commitments, including uptime targets and support response times, are set in the Master Service Agreement and are not guaranteed by these terms alone.
Fees and payment
Pricing for the AutoCops platform is set in the customer's Master Service Agreement. Public visitors to the website pay nothing and receive nothing under contract. We do not charge for the marketing site, the free assessment, the blog, or this set of legal documents.
Termination
Either party may terminate a customer subscription in accordance with the Master Service Agreement. On termination, we will assist the customer with the export of their data in standard formats. We do not hold customer data hostage and we will not delete it before the agreed wind-down period has elapsed.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, neither party shall be liable to the other for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability under any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by the customer in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Specific liability terms applicable to enterprise customers are set out in the Master Service Agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, India.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version. We will notify customers of material changes; for the public website, continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
